HERBAL TINCTURESWhat is a tincture? Throughout the world people are turning to herbal remedies, but many are intimidated by the complex jargon that masks the simplicity of homemade herbal cures. Using herbs to ease common ailments has been around since the beginning of time. A tincture is a liquid extract of a herb. It is made by soaking herbs in a drinkable alcohol. We use a mixture of organic grain alcohol and distilled water to get the require strength of approximately 55% alcohol. All of our herbs are organic. The alcohol extracts a great deal of the active ingredients of the herb. The distilled water also helps in this process as it is "empty" water. Therefore it can more easily extract the powerful benefits from the herbs. Tinctures have much longer shelf lives than dried herbs and the potency can remain for up to three years or more. When using a tincture, you will use only 20-40 drops 2 to 5 times per day. You can add your tincture to water, juice, hot tea, or drop under the tongue. If you use under the tongue try to let sit in your mouth for approximately 30 seconds. When using the tincture in a tea, it will dissolve the alcohol but leave the properties of the herbs. | ||||||
